  1. Focus on publishing compelling, quality content that is uniquely different and more valuable than anything else out there. That usually means it’s long-form content.
  2. Use the keywords your audience is searching for. Search engines understand synonyms and similar terminology, so using related keywords in multiple pieces of content helps the bots know what topics your site covers. That said, focusing on keywords for each piece of content you publish still matters.
  3. Offsite references, reviews, and social links play a role in how your content performs on search engines. Inbound links to your site are still important, and so is a logical sitemap with internal linking among pages.
  4. Content freshness matters. Keeping your content up to date helps search engines understand that your site is accurate today.
  5. And of course, any SEO strategy should work hand-in-hand with a basic content strategy:

    1. Know your audience.
    2. Know your business.
    3. Know your goals

Nothing is going to last forever as changing of algorithyms in the future can require you to change your strategy as well. For SEO you can divide it into two parts. On page and Off Page SEO. The On Page SEO can remain for quite a while and not a lot of changes are required in the long run unless the content in question is subject to change or it needs constant optimization due to competitor research and analysis. The off page SEO never stops, not unless you want the competitiors to get a lead on you, even if you are sitting on the first position on SERP and the market is competitve, you can never stop SEO as I have seen several businesses getting hit and in worst cases never recovering as they were left far behind, obviously there are other factors as well such as investment, skill etc. For content, Search Engine like fresh content, as long as your content gives value to your users, you are good to go, if the nature of the content is something that requires an update, then do so. Frequently updated content gives an impression to search engines that the web master is active in providing the latest information. Use various platforms to try and push your content. Stay up to date on the latest industry trends.

- Good content, is good content, despite the algorithms looking at Key words essentially you will need natural content which is relevant to your stakeholders. Google rewards relevant and natural content. 

 

- implement your basic SEO tactics, make sure your content is "index-able and relevant" as Google bots crawl the internet they'll seek content which is easily found "index-able" and most appropriate to search terms "relevant". 

 

- become a thought leader which in your industry, push content which is applicable and appropriate

 

This process will not happen over night, and you will need to constantly check and recheck content to see what works. The data your receive through your analytics should influence your decision making process. However the KEY is to start, and then monitor and act.
