Auto CAD Electrical
MATLAB AND MS Office
Softskills, National code is most important, Added, Autocad, Ms office, PMP certification is a plus point too.
Electrical Design Engineer shall be well versed in Electrical Codes and other International Standards.
Software comes from the supplier, it can easily be learned by exploring the programs.
Softskills of Autocad, SPEL, ETAP, MATLAB. one foreign language atleast.
It depends on the type of the job. electrical engineer for construction needs to know m.s office very well, AutoCAD, Dialux and aware of electrical equations as load calculation, voltage...etc.
Transformer & Circuit Breaker sizing
cable sizing, Short circuit, Voltage drop calculations
load scheduling & Load calculations
basic motor starting techniques
Microsoft office
Autocad
It should be an microsoft excel because you can calculate the load schedule that requires on the electrical system design.
it depend on type of the job. electrical engineer for construction need to know excel very well. in order to do evaluation of metering and also checking of periodic statement. dialux also use for lux calculation. for the jobs in the field of substation and transmission line , he need to know etap or digsilent in order to do the calcultaion of short circuit, load flow , cable sizing and voltage drop calculation and etc. plc is also very useful , expecially s71200,1500 , 300/400 with tiaportal software or scemantic.
Well! first is excel sheet! where has to have major command in order for creating load schedules and other calculations & so on! then it is Autocad as he fresher and will get command as will gain experience by passing time. In terms of knowledge he should have some basics knowledge about voltage drop, conversion of loads, simple and basic formulas of active power, current, voltage, & need to have familiar with lighting fixtures types, power distribution in terms of cascading!
LOAD CALCULATIONS KNOWLEDGE
