In the context of idea creation, what differences do you make between "image", "concept" and idea "?

Thank you for the invitation.  An intricate question and well thought of....

The definition all has layers within its’ words and linked because for each to generate a core or centre  – image, concept and idea builds itself from one another in distinct forms.  The conscious and unconscious, both play a role in the form.  It is  a picture in general that generate from the mind and the thought that comes from it grows into a new innovation.

An Image is defined as a representation of the external form of a person or thing in art, the general impression that a person, organization, or product.  It is also an optically formed reproduction of an object, such as one formed by a lens or mirror. A person or thing that resembles another closely; double or copy (can be a photocopy of the original). A mental representation or picture; idea produced by the imagination.

An image (from Latin: imago) is an arti-fact that depicts visual perception, for example, a photo or a two-dimensional picture, that has a similar appearance to some subject—usually a physical object or a person, thus providing a depiction of it. Contents. (copyrights). Characteristics ( of a play).  Still or moving. (pictures), Imagery (literary term)

Concepts are the fundamental building blocks of our thoughts and beliefs. They play an important role in all aspects of cognition. Diagram. When the mind makes a generalization such as the concept of tree, it extracts similarities from numerous examples; the simplification enables higher-level thinking.

The definition of concept is based on a main idea or a theme. (adjective) An example of concept is a book that is focused on satirical poetry.

Definition of concept: Advertising: A briefly stated clear idea around which an ad or marketing campaign is organized.

a general notion or idea; conception. 2. an idea of something formed by mentally combining all its characteristics or particulars; a construct. 3. a directly conceived or intuited object of thought.

A concept is an idea or abstract principle . | Meaning, pronunciation, translations and examples.

Philosophy An idea or mental image which corresponds to some distinct entity or class of entities, or to its essential features, or determines the application of a term (especially a predicate), and thus plays a part in the use of reason or language. Example:  sentences.  'The application of the concept following a rule of law.

Idea is defined as any conception existing in the mind as a result of mental understanding, awareness, or activity. 2. a thought, conception, or notion: That is an excellent idea.

medical Definition of idea. 1 : an entity (as a thought, concept, sensation, or image) actually or potentially present to consciousness. 2 : a formulated thought or opinion.

Idea definition: An idea is a plan, suggestion , or possible course of action. | Meaning, pronunciation, translations and examples.

Definition of idea: A thought or collection of thoughts that generate in the mind. An idea is usually generated with intent, but can also be created unintentionally. Ideas often form during brainstorming sessions or group meetings.

In philosophy, ideas are usually construed as mental representational images of some object. Ideas can also be abstract concepts that do not present as mental images. Many philosophers have considered ideas to be a fundamental ontological category of being. The capacity to create and understand the meaning of ideas 

The views held by various philosophers (18th century) are 1.  Plato (theory of forms and hence innovation).  2.  Rene Descartes (Image or representation)  3.  John Locke (object of the understanding – human concept)  4.  David Hume (vague mental reconstruction of perception as an impression and life experience.  5.  Immanuel Kant (A concept)  6.  Rudolf Steiner (limits to knowledge)  7.  Wilhem Wundt (conscious representation of some object to the external world, related to experiment and introspection).  8.  Charles Sanders Peirce (Pragmatism) 9.  G.G. stout and J.M. Baldwin (difference in degree of intensity)  the invention of the chair as one sees it as an object of use to sit down and as a prop.

Conclusion:

Image, Concept and Idea, they all evolve with one thing in mind, the thought of expression of the unconscious being. The science of the mind makes the brain work in every direction to perceive light and an idea is born.

Hence the power of the image which can utilise the potential of parallel processing found in its involvement with perception, and serial processing which ... Semantic information refers to the intended meaning of the image, its referential aspect, the idea or thing it points to; it could be said that it holds a third party in its sights.

Social sciences as in an innovation is the spread of an idea(s) from culture to culture and a whole new universe is unveiled.  The human being is the centre of creation as new ideas come forth with every new generation.

Image, concept and Idea in one word is a picture – a visual image, a mental image and a perception to imagery.  It tells you something about the thing (an abstract) or the scene.  It makes you think or role play and design life experiences.  It relates to people and creative instincts which begin with a visual then a conception of the visual and finally a full blown perception of an idea into implementation with principles behind the scenes.

Image is the general shape of the creation. Concept is being created by the understanding of the idea The idea is whatever known or supposed about something and it’s always an end of particular action or specific situation

Idea is to thing about something for to make it better  ,once you  start to imagine your idea  with your experience you will create concept
