IgE antibodies are responsible for provoking allergic reactions and thus called allergic antibodies. They are present in the blood at very low concentration in normal individuals. But in an individual sensitive to certain antigen, when exposed to that antigen, IgE antibodies level in that particular individual immediately rise which in turn causes exaggerated immune response against the antigen.
