Candidate put the interviewer on hold during a phone interview. When she came back on the line, she told the interviewer that she had a date set up for Friday.
one of the common mistakes that i've seen when i made mine, there was a friend of mine who applied with me to get a job in a Oil and gas company and they ask him if would you like to work with us in the field and his answer was No, which in my opinion one of the commone mistaked that they ususally the youngs made as they thought by answering No the company will take them to work in the main office but the thing that they don't no the comapny will not accept them especially it's Oil and gas Company.
Smokers beware - turning up at a non smoker interviewer smelling of cigerrette smoke is a bad idea.
Sorry it has to be said..............................
Since into HR profession, I would like to share my recruitment experience and there were some major and minor mistakes did by candidates and like to share few of them;
1. Sometime candidates speak to little or lengthy reply which frustrate the managers.
2. I met with2-3 candidates who spoke too loudly then the normal pitch and it is always suggested to speak in normal voice with confidence.
3. Moving on chair or fidgeting, do avoid it.
4. Not dressing professionally.
5. Arriving too late for interview.
6. Using casual words interview, string or smiling too much.
7. A very interesting, surprising not a mistake, a female candidates bring husband and two kids with her.
