- Lake of energy.

- Suffering from headache.

- Late in the morning.

- Exceeding time limit of his or any assigned job.

- Hupper motions.

- Absence without any preadvice

You know an employee is stressful when he/she is not doing his/her duties the way they should be done, or they don't talk much and barely even smile, they show up late to work and become a bad influence to their co-workers and even to the clients. Stress could be the outcome of multiple reasons such as broken promises about a raise or number of working hours, constant work under pressure and lack of chemistry between co-workers, speaking from experience.

An employee who feels stressed is always far away from his job scene and he or she also feels tired and fatigued constantly, cannot concentrate on his or her task very well, needs help on the job always and has no humour in his or her life.  Always is troubled about things happening or to happen in his or her life.  Frequent absentism is noticed in the routine of their job.

 

An employer can help this employee by supporting them through one-to-one’s and putting them through a consultation with a physician and activity that will take away stress, having a mentor will help them too.  

 

Physical symptoms of stress include:

  • Low energy.
  • Headaches.
  • Upset stomach, including diarrohea, constipation, and nausea.
  • Aches, pains, and tense muscles.
  • Chest pain and rapid heartbeat.
  • Insomnia.
  • Frequent colds and infections.
  • Loss of sexual desire and/or ability.

Emotional signs of stress:

  • Depression or general unhappiness.
  • Anxiety and agitation.
  • Moodiness, irritability, or anger.
  • Feeling overwhelmed.
  • Loneliness and isolation.
  • Other mental or emotional health problems.

The employee will do well to have a good meal that helps them through this depression.  Fruits and green vegetables with soups and a lemon juice will make life less stressful.  It will build up confidence and self esteem and happiness will begin to grow in them.  Talking to people help them too.

There are numerous causes of stress in the workplace. It can be incredibly detrimental. If your employees are stressed, they will not be able to work effectively or efficiently. Customer satisfaction levels may also decrease. Particularly, if employees are unable to deliver a quality service. As such it is crucial that managers understand the causes of stress and the symptoms. One possible cause of stress in the workplace could be the worry of job security or wages. Employees who are concerned about their job will not be able to concentrate. They will be scared that any sign of poor work could result in a job loss. Ironically, this tends to lead employees lose focus and in some cases, lose their job. These are some signs you can observe: Lower quality of work, reduced productivity, lack of concentration Indecisiveness, poor judgment or absentmindedness Loss of sense of humor, irritability, withdrawal Frequent, minor illnesses, fatigue or increased sick leave Consistently staying late, coming in early or working weekends, not taking vacations etc. Thank you
