For best customer experience, I would change that I have sold to the customer. I know for sure we have warranty and customer would really take advantage of that. It's either you can completely change the product or just refund the money in full.

first i will not ever sell defective parts, however if accidentally the parts got defected i will immidiately change it and return to the fctory for factory defect claim
Well, the client should be informed about the incident and the item shall be imediately replaced with a proper one
