Marketing objectives in most cases are aimed at brand building, validation of offerings, creating good vibes around your products and services via physical and online media that will in-turn propel sales. It could be promotional events for a new service launch or reinforcing the message with a new set of attributes that were untapped to hitherto. Organizing webinars, industry sponsored events, road shows, publishing collateral that differentiates the firm's offerings and tracking it against KPIs like demographic reach, comparison of media used to deliver the message, tracking results in terms of subscriptions, intent to purchase etc.

Sales Objectives are directly linked to and drive the top line and bottom line targets. Sales is a relationship driven mechanism where years of investment and in-depth knowledge of the customers' inherent and upcoming needs to be able to proactively position your solutions is paramount. Objectives could be as innovative as helping the customers think through the design thinking process of how to enhance their end customer's journey and devise a customized offering for them that enables them to achieve it most optimally.

I am not a marketing experienced, but for me, marketing is finding out what kind of product costumer needs in a market place (clothes, energy, food,...) and they must plan how to put these products to costumers life. They sell an idea. Sales are the link between marketing and costumer. Sellers are closer to costumer because they offer the products developed by marketing people. They must be able to show products with quality and importance to costumer daily life.

Marketing and sales are both aimed at increasing revenue. They are so closely intertwined that people often don’t realize the difference between the two. Indeed, in small organizations, the same people typically perform both sales and marketing tasks. Nevertheless, marketing is different from sales and as the organization grows, the roles and responsibilities become more specialized.
