Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language like HTML. CSS is a cornerstone technology of the World Wide Web, alongside HTML and JavaScript.

CSS is designed to enable the separation of presentation and content, including layout, colors, and fonts. This separation can improve content accessibility, provide more flexibility and control in the specification of presentation characteristics, enable multiple web pages to share formatting by specifying the relevant CSS in a separate .css file, and reduce complexity and repetition in the structural content.

Style sheet or cascade style sheet (CSS) is a textual document that describes the look and feel of web page , elements inside other web document or even a website as whole. It describes the color scheme, position of web controls , font family and size used in page. It can also help developers to control all elements inside web document by setting the elements properties like width , height , relation to other elements. CSS come in different flavors either inline, embedded or used from external url. All approaches are working and it depends on project complexity and website structure. For simplicity the most useful approach is to adopt one of open source css framework like bootstrap, foundation css or any other library on the web. These frameworks save developers time and effort by help them to focus on development process and website functionality rather than website theme.

It allows you to specify many more things than you could do in HTML when it comes to color, font, position and others
