I used to believe money can be best motivator but lately i've been thinking that competition is more vital than money as nobody likes to be called a lose a race intentionally. Cheers
I would put competition before the rest since I love racing and to see myself ahead of someone only helps me get more confident and inspired. Appreciation and money is definitely important as well, since they stand as a proof to our efforts and hard work.
None of the items mentioned above has low importance but regarding to me "Appreciation" is the best choice I can choose. It is the motivator factor to my passion to the work I work for. What is best than being appreciated into your work ???:) appreciation can leads you to a higher position, the competition can grows among employees and you can play a special role , you can also be appreciated by the money wise and in the same time you are a threat for others who should move on and work more to get what you already own "Appreciation".
Well question, Appreciation and money is definitely important as well, Our efforts and hard work more better for the Motivator further career development.
In this age specially in Pakistan money is the best motivator for labour and other employees.
Generally speaking, money is the best motivator. If your boss thanks you and gives you a pat on the back, it will be good and nice, but that won't be enough. You still wouldn't be satisfied. Not only is money necessary to fulfill our basic physical needs of food, shelter, and security, but it is also a status symbol. Incentivating people require that we combine monetary and non-monetary rewards. Both types of rewards are necessary and compliment each other.
Well it depends on the individual. If an individual is a career climber, then nature of job can be a good motivator. Similarly, an adequate benefit structure can motivate individuals who are money minded. Organisational culture plays an important role in gaining commitment of employees as well. Therefore, motivational factors tend to vary.
If you have the money, then appreciation, challenge and competition are good candidates. If you need the money, then I am afraid, there is no better motivation than money.
I THINK IT IS JOB THREAT.
it depends upon the individual and at what level of career he is working. for some money is everything, for others recognition/ appreciation is more motivational, some perform better in competition and some always need threat to get motivated. it is the job of the managers to assess every team members motivation factor and to deal accordingly. all these are effective motivator till the time they are unmet.
Money is the lowest motivation and works best at the start of career, then comes safety i.e. threat, thereafter comes competition and appreciation.
It depends on the individual worker. As a business owner, it is your job to recognize the types. Personally, appreciation is what fuels my productivity. Find out what they like and work from that. Better yet, as your workers what their preferred incentives are.
