How can you convince an employee to have a "demotion"?

If you have an employee that is valuable to the team, but you think he was put in a place higher than his abilities, can you convince them to have a demotion while not losing them at the same time?

Hello,

Greetings.

Kindly find below my response on ask queries.

Assign him some important task of organization and if he will not do that tasks so try to convince him that you are not able to sustain this designation but it should be done personally with him one to one. and try to praise him in front of others for his contribution.if you want to keep that resouce in your organization.

If you have put an employee in a place higher than his abilities, you might have made a mistake or the employee has not given the right information. If the employee has commitment and for the time being he has not the right abilities, I would offer him a demotion, with the same labour conditions and give him the opportunity to get trained or education, so in the near future he will be suitable for his job. This is a win win situation for the employee and company. Of course as an employer you have to be able to show the employee where he is failing is his job.If You convince him and give him a chance he will be thankfull and the commitment of  his side will stay.
