There are a few techniques to please our customers, and different ways to approach them; first of all, identify the client.
I need to get at least 3 personal things from the client; first I would introduce the interaction with an open question, so as "is there any special event?", another one like "the event will be in the outside or a closed place", this one will help you to give our guest, in case of a female, a short or long dress, with or without sleeves, for example, and they will realise that you are aware of the climate and the comfort they will need; or something simple like "what's your favourite colour?"; those are examples of easy questions to ask the customer to make the buying experience more personal and not only to sell, just to please their needs.
understand customers issue (empathised if needed) then provide the right resolution and let them feel that you really want to help to (customer satisfaction).
