Can staff be required to perform work normally performed by employees in other classifications?

Every employee in his department perform his tasks and duties according to his/her JD and other tasks assigned by their managers, performance can be judge by their performance appraisal.

One should not compare ones tasks and responsibilities of other employee as everyone has his own responsbilities.

A clear job description is required for each employeeThe tasks must be distributed fairly so that each employee is carried out and is accountable and evaluated on the basis of completion of his work according to the job description and should not be loaded employee of another employeeFor this is injustice

I am assuming that by classification you mean department. So, yes employees may be asked to perform in some other department however, it is not advisable since mostly it impacts negatively on the outcome thereby causes more harm than good, had the staff have not been asked to do the task.
