Performance Management processes has value, however the value if from supporting processes or from the integrity of the people that are expected to use the process. PM generally creates more animosity form an employees perspective due to the process being subjective.

A more objective process in my opinion is performance contracting. It is where employers and employees agree on deliverables. if you as an employee fail to deliver then you have only yourself to blame.
