We should focus more on customer engagement than on selling the products. When learning what the customers really want is the only way we make good sales. some tips to succeed are
1. ask them about their needs/wants/interests.
2. Empathize and understand the reason behind their needs
3. Treat them sincerely and in a way that they trust you.
Provide the best service + think out of the box to meet customer's satisfaction.. This will lead to a happy customer who will engage more & refer more to your company.
Majorly customer engagement leads into consolidation of relations & sense of Trust & Faith emerges from such action. The customer always knows what you are selling but if the relation is converted into Trust then there is always a possibility of the client remembering you first during his hour of need. But this is as well subjective. Generating newer contacts for business & consolidating the older clients leads to Sales intensification.
I think this is a 2 ways relation, making sales is so important, but keeping customers loyal is much more important, since they are those who will increase our sales by buying our product or service and become repeated customers.
I think communication skills have an important role in this. The customer dosn`t have a trust in the seller. He must be assured of his participation by not feeling to him that I want to sell the goods only whether the goods benefit for him or not, or if the goods that the customer actually wants or No
A friendship must be formed with the client through ice breaking to gain customer`s trust.
finally .. the service after sales, have to make a call or more with the customer to know the satisfaction of the goods sold to him to gain more confidence between us
Acyually, finding a new customer is difficult and costly job. So it is very much important engaging an existing customer as the part of handling customer churn. Ofcourse to improve market share we need to find new customers but not at the cost of loosing current customers.
I think, no we should not focus on customer engagement insteadf of selling our products.
