What do you think about having a budget for mental health, child welfare and well being?

New Zealand unveiled its "wellbeing" budget and decide to increase spending on mental health, indigenous welfare and child poverty. I found this an amazing approach and by doing so, we put people before economics. I would like to ask about your opinion and what do you think about the advantages and disadvantages of a decision like this.

A higher proportion of national budgets should be allocated to develop- ing adequate infrastructure and services for mental health and welfare . At the same time, more human resources are needed to provide care for those with mental disorders and to protect and promote child health. Countries, especially those with limited resources, need to establish specifically targeted policies, plans and initiatives to promote and support healthcare. All of us with interest in the health and development of people and communities.
