1. You need to be very familair and have deep knowledge about the Industry in which you work (where you are the HR)

2. Same for the Co you work

3. Attend seminars /conferences/online courses in your own field of work to gain such knowledge

4. Be a learner - ask questions from your seniors and collegues about what they see as the upcomimng changes and how they intend to face it.

5. As a HR you need to advise everyone that disruptions are taking place in all functions and Industries. People need to be prepared for it. Whilst doing this you yourself will get lot of insights in your own profession and be able to stay current in your profession.

The most important way that many companies are kept up-to-date, though, is to have an employment law attorney ( as Alamiria Info <)on a contract and their office sends legislative updates for anything going on in your state or at the Federal level.

Keep searching, looking , and read always for new ideas and thoughts, make a sessions and invite your employees from different departments let them apply their ideas and let them open their minds and say their suggestions. try to apply new proceduers and ideas inside your department first them inside the organization, Do not be a traditional employee, officer, manager. And believe in statement that say " with every sun rise there is something new in this universe !".

It is important to be focused on the business processes of your Company.

The persons you select must be aligned with the needs of knowledge, seniority, values, capacities and attitudes those processes imply.

Here following you find a summary picture from one of my book.

The most important thing is that you know the main processes of your Company: who makes what and what is needed to make it.

HR classification in a Company

Change is the law of nature. Like it or not, your industry is changing. Everything changes; it always has, and it always will. You can keep up with and be part of the changes, or you can overlook and ignore changes and let others pass you by. Witholding the changing trends and following the traditional way becomes the reason of failure for the most of trend setter industries. For example Kodak and Nokia ( No need to illustrate their fall down here ). However, keeping yourself updated with the rapid changes will make you prosperous and motivated. As an HR professional you have to keep yourself updated and you have to take steps to move your industry's trends towards the newly emerging trends. But, keep in mind the change should not be against the most crucial policies or regulations of the industry. For example : Outsourcing and leveraging. If an industry is having its own productivity then it should never go for searching these two alternatives. ( Supposing these are in trend ).

I understand as a professional or an HR professional one should follow the trends of the industry. But, the big issue now a days is the time to read every leaders report in your industry. So the alternate is to follow and read Top Blogs or publications of your industry everyday especially the influencers in the market. Use different analytical systems or tools to determine the trend where is it heading. Keeping your self among or between smart people or advisers will benefit you in real terms. Be ready to accept change and implement, as in the current market scenario having rapid changes globally, one should embrass change.
