My chiller compressor got crankshaft broken apart2 times. We didn't clear the reason:We opened and checked all the parts(cylinder, piston, piston ring, connecting rod, all bearing pads, suction& discharge valves ...are good condition. But found the hot gas bypass valve failed but I am not sure whether due to hot gas bypass valve failed leading to the liquid slugging in compressor or not? Please advice!
ThanksTan TM
If your chiller compressor has had its crankshaft broken twice, it is likely a result of excessive stress or wear on the crankshaft, or potentially a defect in the manufacturing process. It is recommended to have a professional inspect the chiller system to determine the root cause of the issue and determine the best course of action for repair or replacement.
