UPS is stand for Uninterruptible Power Supply and it provides emergency power to a load when the input power source it is also is typically used to protect hardware such as computers, data centers, telecomunication equipment or other electrical equipment where an unexpected power disruption could cause injuries, fatalities, serious business disruption or data loss.

UPS is a safety device used to save the machines witch have PLC and software becaues it save a power for certain time to give a chance to shut down the machines and computer safely when the source of power suddenly off . we use it when we need to safe our machines and ther are many types and sizes we can use only big one for all machines or we use small one for eatch machine

An uninterruptible power supply, also uninterruptible power source, UPS or battery/flywheel backup, is an electrical apparatus that provides emergency power to a load when the input power source

and there are  kinds one is offline and the another online with inverter for charging and discharging the battaries  and this is the best one and we use the UPS to protect the hardwar like computer and telecomniucations and low voltage equipments and DCS and conotrol system24v  in the machines like ACCU-Tech system and Siemens and unit for UPS is VA like UPS500VA and UPS2KVA

UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply ) which areas have more power failures depends on alternative power supply its used in critical areas where work should not stop due to power failures. for.e.g you are working on a Desktop (computer) on a important report and your power goes off suddenly without UPS you will not get time to save it and you have start all over fresh.

Its a easiest example which I can give.

UPS.

Whilst useful for ensuring the continuation of services over short term power outages/glitches & smoothing  power spikes it cannot be relied on as a total solution for outages.

The capacity/rating of the UPS should be based upon the criticality & business impact of the loss of the solution in th event of an outage.

As an example all my switches, WAAS devices etc are supported by UPS to ensure that minor power outages do not impact service - and also allow for time to securely & safely bring down those services if the outage is ongoing.

In data centre instances/critical systems you will normally find these are backup up with external generators.
