To be strong give him target to acheive and tell him to concenterate work and follow up one by one and never give rest till care full.
I will search the reason of his behaviour,sit down with him try find slution to agree continuity work as team mamber.
Teambuilding, personality deveopment or character development that's how it goe's although they are careless but the company needs them or an asset for the growing up of company.. but still a teambuilding or personality development must be applied...:-)
