There is only one word that best describes customer service and that is "listening". If we give an attentive ear to our clients then about% of the problem if any exists is solved and always a client being a human appreciates an attentive ear. In addition to listening, the second step that plays an equally important role is "responding", now here many execs will respond in a structured manner as directed by their superiors which i believe will not be appreciated. If we respond in a manner that suits human interaction instead of running our mouths on a loop will improve client relations and also push the clients to be a little extra patient with the execs.
Customer Service is that listen the problem from customer carefully and try to understand it and then make suitable solution for concerning customer.
