No problem it happens with you are more competant than your supervisor. Please do not flair up deal him with the best you can. You will see ice will melt or break and you would become favourite of your BOSS.
Tricky situation
But I think the best way to make people listen to you is to tell them something they like to hear …
Example : tell him I have an idea that will make the company look good ,or make you look good ..or raise our profits …..
Start your idea with something positive that the boss like to hear !
If I were you and that didn’t work I will simple reach out to my boss's boss ,the higher rank and tell my ideas to them ! …
Some or the bosses are negative minded or feel zeleous for someonnes creative plan or work.In my past experience I have seen that, motivation to boss had failed in like the similar cases. It is wise to convince the supreme boss or establish an image for such works out the office ,so that the negative would be bound to permit or aknowledge such creative works.
that is called parenthood management.
if you are a part of a family of brothers and sisters you will know what i mean.
the way you used to get through to your father through their favorite son or daughter.
build a strong relatioship with the person your manager listens to,and ask him to repeatedly talk to your boss about your bright ideas and he will start to accept you as the seconed favourite and accept your ideas
Perhaps a little focus on how the creative input will be benefitting (measurable benefits) to the entity. This will compel the reviewer to view the input with seriousness and at the same time will encourage your creativity.
Do the following
1. Set all emotions aside (emotional discussion will not get you anywhere).
2. Establish a common goal between you and your manager. (both must benefit from your suggestion).
3. Select an appropriate date and time to have a discussion with your boss.(when he is open for conversations).
4. Have the discussion. (keep to the facts and keep his attention).
5. Have a follow – up discussion (should you not get an answer the first time).
From20 years experience in a similar situation, you have three choices:
1) obey the boss and forward your creative inputs through his favourite employees, and then show up and tell him (with proofs) that the idea came from you
2) jump the boss and forward your creative inputs to the boss of your boss, and be prepared to some problems and even to change job
3) change job directly
fisrt of all you should undersatnd the difference between you and the boss ? Boss is always boss and what i think is there's nothing to do with the creative input this about the diiferent prospetive of differnt peoples . and my asnwer is "you don't understand your boss thats why you stand under him "
so please be positive :)
what a tricky question ,
if i were you i'll try to pitch my idea in ana atractive way that will ataract him to listen to me
and if it was a pesronnal issue betwen me and him i'll try to find his best employee and ask him to convince him with my offer and show him the profits he'll gain behind my strategy
i will submit my idea's via email, and i will tell others about it, if s/he won't listen to me and would listen to others i would still be happy
