I scanned a few answers, not all of them, and not in their entirety, but, did not find any answer properly relating to this question. Maybe I missed some.

First of all, Customer Relationship Management is not a business opportunity itself to begin with, let alone the unltimate business opportunity. It is not even a name of a position in any management disciplines. It rather is a management category. If we broke it down, we could dig up a "Customer Relationship Manager" from it, which is also not a business opportunity either. In my opinion, we must understand the things in their right perspective to function as progressive managers.

Disappointed, you maybe. But, this is how I feel about it.

Regards,

Aijaz Ali.

i believe that CRM is important, but i really don't understand the rush toward crm and making it a holy subject when it is really part of much wider spectrum of interrelated fields  ,all of which are important.

CRM is the new trend, and trend is your friend, but study people first and understand the fact that people can  never be fully satisfied.

you must establish limits and guidlines ,look for industry accepted service levels, play around that are, prefection is expensive, can you really afford it and set new industry accepted standards that exceed the current.

I don't think so. The best CRM will not sell poor products or good products for the wrong markets or good products in the right market for a price higher than compitetors (assuming the same functionalities and quality).

it is obvious that understanding the customers, their needs and wants gives an advantage when working within a particular field. However, when it comes down to ultimate name of business opportunities, I believe it takes much more than Customer Relations Management, such as Operations Management, Advertising and marketing Communications, Events, etc. I guess they are all linked together and need to perform well and in partnership in order to achieve successful services or product. Thank you
