Teaching methodologies
Handling a disruptive student requires a balance of firmness and empathy. First, try setting clear expectations for behavior and consequences at the beginning of class. When disruptions happen, calmly redirect the student to stay on task and avoid public confrontation. You might also consider a one-on-one conversation outside of class to understand any underlying issues. Positive reinforcement when the student behaves well can also help shift the dynamic. Lastly, involving them in the lesson or assigning a small responsibility might reduce disruptive behavior.
