What are the triple (A) steps and message types in Cisco RADIUS?

Triple A is a framework used to authenticate, authorize, and audit an access request from a user. It can be used by many applications. One of the many applications that can use Triple A is remote access IPSec vpn. Triple A framework is a client/server model. The client is any network device that is triple A-enabled device such as routers, switches, firewalls,..etc. The server is a hardware appliance or a software in a virtualized guest machine. Both, the client and server, send and receive messages to each other using an industry standard protocol such as RADIUS or vendor-specific proprietary protocol such as TACACS, XTACACS, or TACACS+.
