In real life business we look for drives that motivates a customer to buy,do you think other than needs we can consider fear, greed, ego drives?

an insurance broker sells you insurance by enhancing fear off loss in you. a stock broker sells you bonds, stocks.by enhancing greed of making huge profits. a ferrari salesman sells you a $30 usd car enhancing your ego. do you agree? are there anyother drivers that drives people to buy.

We must study the market and then we will know what's he needs and then we can sell the product to be larger sales.

Now there are a lot of wars in the Middle East, so the arms trade is now at its best

He also after wars need to Omran areas and build and develop, so you will develop the building materials market will be prosperity.

I think that all of this is in the same place which is a customer need for the product, for example, his fear for his health is the reason for his need of a product or his curiosity to experience the products that meet his psychological needs ,others tend to products with a guarantee ... so I think we should know the reasons behind customer needs to find out the suitable way in promoting the product to the target group

The ultimate answer is YES!

After all it is the duty of an experienced sale professional to know/create the need of his product to a potential customer. In my opinion it is all about these basic drives that lead you, me, and everyone to a purchase decision. For example, why do I want to go to the Gym? To look good and feel fit! But then, when i go searching for the right gym I will look for a one that satisfies my other need (nice place, cool people, new machines, etc..) although all gyms will provide the same basic need, but a good salesman will convince me to buy a membership with his gym, and even buy a1 year membership instead of a month!

It's inappropriate to put fear, greed, ego under need category.

Rather it's the power of money and their life style that puts them for extra need of more convinience and comfort.

Some of the motives mentioned here like greed envy etc are true when it comes to demand for luxury items or items that bolster self esteem. These items do not tend to follow the general principle of demand and supply. Many a time the demand will simply be lead by the fact that is a sign of prosperity to own the product.

Yes some people buy some thing out of jealosy as if my neighbour has a new car I will buy a better one which is more costlier and bigger. Sometimes people buy in emotion like diamond rings are bought there is no need just because its an emotion for some guys its fear otherwise wife will be upset ;)

these are other factors which drives people to buy something

Customers' needs motivates them to buy (for the right price). I see that fear, greed, ego, etc. are still needs.

The other approach is to create the need and I believe that this approch have negative impact on the community.
