Dear Friends,

Thank you for the good response on this question.

As majority of us feel, EHS is neglected mainly by employers and also by employees, due to negligence, or cultural differences in different regions!!

This is very true that, the nations which were in colonial rule are the slowest in adopting the EHS standards and practices!! This clearly indiactes, regional preferences are much different from what we need essentially to protect our planet and ourself!!

In few countries, considereably big population is uneducated and many of them struggle to earn their food. In such countries, some Employers can easily exploit employees by providing poor EHS practices in their organizations. For employees, living in such dangerous environment is a routine life!! It is becoming a culture!! This cultural influence still exists even with next educated generations!!

Also, corrupt practices in the government departments make application of EHS requirements in organizations ineffective!!

Awareness, Cultural differences, Corrupt govt admininstrators and even greedy employers are the reason why EHS requirements are being neglected!!

Because their is no prohebitive price to pay for such deviations. On the other hand this could be due to state of economy in the subject region. At the end of the day, the community is paying for this and not the business.

This is so TRUE, EHS shouldn't be takenfro granted as this play a major impact in an organization in terms of safety, health & envrionmental impact. A important role of an EHS specialist should be well established in the organization and a weekly or a mnthly report will be submiited to the organization to update what's the real score of it. I guess, complete understanding and EHS should be institutionalized across all organizations where danger of life and environment is at stake!

EHS is neglected by employers not by employees.

The employers must satisfy the healthy and safety needs for employees as the first level of motivation.

EHS is a measure of how you think the tasks performed by the workforce. Accidents can happen anytime or anywhere and although office jobs are less physically risky, they can be streesfull psycologically. Thus EHS is necessary to prevent something or someone to get broken!
