MPLS -TP i a simple version of MPLS for transmission networks, it hasn't no control plane ,so it is independent on IP, so all tasks and feature are implemented manually, and it is complex for administration. In my opinion it is just a relief for old transport networks, and it can't be a competitor for Ethernet and metro Ethernet because it support full version of MPLS and can the operator can use all MPLS features
