Kindly suggest ways as to how a manufacturing unit should handle it's huge work force (who are mostly illiterate) emotional and work related issues.

we must design their integrated programs offer the opportunity for a better life for them and not just at work (educational programs) and these educational programs include health and environmental awareness ....then provide them with the training and rehabilitation programs for better job opportunities

Most of the illiterate workforce care for only money (which they are paid), giving them incentives specially on festival occasions may help, and also taking care of their smaller matters/issues, they usually don't put much demand, except for salary and work condition.

Hi - Good question, It is undoubtedly difficult, but we should keep on trying, talking to workers can solve the issues, company management should sit and plan a strategy, workers should be given some more attention, they should be trained, they should be given respect and treatment like all other employees of the company....

The best way to handle  such issues is to design an incentive scheme in consultation with workmen representatives & Management ( both must be willing to accept).  Performers should be clearly identified and awarded. The incentive needs to be transparent, output mentioned must be achievable.

In order to handle employees who are emotional and have work related issues,such employees should be given mentoring and coaching sesions from time to time,so that their performance is enhanced.
Further more activities such as employee engagement programs should be introduced wherby employees are given meaningful work ,which could in turn enhance their productivity.
