Hello Syeda,

There is allot of risk management and mitigation in event management.  While event managers strive to make make everything fall in place as planned, there is always an element of surprise involved.  Event managers have to be quick thinkers and creative problem solvers.  In any event there is always a chance that something might and will go wrong, managers have to be able to deal with those problems when they arise, and have to be able to find alternatives should something doesn't fall into plan.

While the purpose of managing and event is good planning, there should always be backup plans should something go wrong.

A good example is having access to multiple vendors or suppliers as a back shouldthere be delays or last minute cancellations.  also, during the event itself, one should always be prepared for something going wrong, and if that happens then it is the event managers job to make sure that the problem is dealt with effectively and in an immediate fashion without disrupting the event itself ( or mini zing those disruptions).

I hope that helps answer your question.
