Time is base on many factors so there is no max days. Here what I have in mind now to reduce the time interval.
* Doing the work in safe method and no shortcut. This to keep all people safe and having best quality to avoid redoing the work another time
* the Machine size and compartment size. we can not compere GE FR9 to FR5
* Experience of the owner in case you are other party.
* The skill of the engineer perfuming the job
*Numbers of people working in the shutdown. SD should have are required skill such rigger, instrument fitter and mechanical etc..
* the team work between people
*Working hours and number of shift
*Planning the activities before the shutdown. Some time the planing start1 year ahead with2nd party to performe the SD
*Making sure are the spare part and the correct one available before shutdown
*Having good schedule to flow it
*Having the right tools and special tool to perform specific job from the manufacturing
*Having workshop with good equipment
*Studying what will be change in case there is upgrade on the machine and how it will be done and what need it to be done
*Having the documents for the turbine available for the people. this include technical, safety plane and assessment for workpermit etc...
*Having good reporting of what change day by day. Especially the pert will be changed with all thire data like serial number part number for report and history of the machine. This also include * *Good handover between the shift night/day.
