It's totally dependant upon one's priority, I believe. Some people value money over career growth. For instance, in some countries Manager receive less pay compared to what's been received by an Executive in some other countries. Now, it's upon the perception and priority of an individual whether to climb up the ladder or down depending upon various factors such as salary range, other benefits, and company overview. In my opinion, if I was a Sales Manager of some company 'X' in a country 'Y', and I receive an offer from company 'A' based in country 'B' regarding working as Sales Executive, I would certainly make my final decision based on the following factors:
I hope my opinion assists you to make a better final decision in this regard.
Thank You!
I would like to share a personal experience that is realted to your question.
I was working in Egypt as commercial manager & business development manager and when I decided to move to Dubai I had5 years of experience, and I am now working as a regional executive. Although I have got other offers with managerial positions, but my decision was based on many factors, not only the title.
The company that I am working for right now is a fortune500 company with more than13,000 employees worldwide, so it is not easy to get a managerial position, and in an organization like this, your work and achievments are going to be of great value and consideration, in less than a year I managed to get a promotion, and I will soon be an Account manager.
My advice to you is that you need to put aside the title, but look at the job itself that you are going to perform, a manager in a small company might be doing half of what you are doing as junior executive in a large corporation! Do what you feel that you will perform better at.
Good Luck.
Why relocate and step down in your professional career ,don't you think you will regret it if you take this move? We are growing up and not down,if someone doesn't appreciate my experience now how would he appreciate it later on.
Also cost of living is high in Dubai I don't think you can maintain your current level of living. Stepping down in your career and lifestyle is not what we are looking for,are we?
We are experienced professionals we can never do it for Dubai or any other country.
Only you can answer your question. Let me elaborate.
The reasons put forward by the recruiters for offering a junior executive\\officer position to someone with a strong profile is that you may have profound experience in your field but lack exposure in GCC. While there is some truth to it I completely disagree with the justification. An example would be as following.
I am a customer relations management specialist with12 years of experience working for top organizations in my country. Yet when considering my profile for a managerial or consultants role it is believed that either I have lack of exposure to the local market or that I come from a rather underdeveloped country where organizations are not as developed or keeping up with the latest systems, technology, methods or training and development. This is completely false.
The fact that we come from a nation that needs more contribution and extra efforts to reach the customers, educate them and deliver compared to the local market we are bound to have more in depth of Customer Relations, retention and churn management. Same goes for any other field and industry. Not to forget the misunderstanding that we are not keeping up with the evolution in the development of organizational development. This again is completely false.
Long story short, Customers are customers be it anywhere. They may have different priorities, opinions and demands but building customer relations or running streamlined customer service operations requires that same set of rules, understanding, processes and dedication be it GCC or Asia or any other region of the world. It will always be customer centric management where customers are provided with services based upon analysis, feasibility and the understanding of customer need.
So should you consider taking such a leap going for an executive position for the sake of getting on board? If you do you never believed in what all experience and exposure you possess. Ask yourself the same question. Only this time please consider all what I said. Your action will portray not just your belief but what we all believe in.

It all depends what your motivation in life is.
We all as Human beings have some motivation in our life that pushes us to work harder and perform better towards excellence.
For some people its the monetary benefits and for the others its the self-esteem and social benefits like Job title, career development etc.
So you have to evaluate your present status and see what is that motivates you.
-If your priority is the monetary benefits then see what is the difference in terms of cash value and other benefits between your current sales manager package and the sales executive package in the UAE.
If you feel that the difference is a lot then this will help you to take your decision.
-If the monetary values is not a motivation for you then stick on your present job as a Sales Manager and apply for senior positions such as Senior Manager etc since you already have 10 years work experience.
All the Best
