Anova(Analysis of Variance) analysis is a statistical test or method used to compare or differentiate between more than2 means of a group. Usually there is one categorical Independant variable(with more than2 groups or levels) and one continuous dependant variable.
For example, If the independent variable (hypertension category) has more than two levels (e.g. hypertensive, normal, and hypotensive) one can compare among the3 groups to know whether they differ on a dependent variable (e.g. Cholesterol levels).
more water samples we used this test.
The goal of ANOVA (One-Way) test is to compare the means of more than two groups that must be independent. The alternative Hypothesis of this test is that at least two means' groups are statisticaly different and then one can use a post-hoc (LSD, Duncan, etc..) test to identify which means' groups are statisticaly different. A post-hoc test uses the MS error terme to perform comparisons. Note that ANOVA test keep the alpha risk at 5% level even if we have more than two groups, this is not possible by using pairwise t-test comparaisons.
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) it is a hypothesis test used whan we have more than two variables in an experiment and need to know if there diffence between at least one pair of variables or not but we will not know which pair of these are different
Compares the means of two or more independent groups to see if they are significantly different.
Based upon linear statistical model, ANOVA is used to compare several population means.ANOVA tells us whether there is a difference among means. It does not tell us which means differ.
If ANOVA indicates that there is a statistically significant difference among means, a graphical procedure can be used to isolate the specific difference.
Mathematically equivalent to a t-test with2 groups.
Uses the F-statistic to compare the variances of the populations.
Assumptions:
• Populations are normally distributed
• Homogeneity of variance
• Independence
When we have only a treatment (nominal variable) which has different categories or levels and observations collected on that trement (Scale variable) then we do use ANOVA. Apart from testing the null hypothesis of there is no difference among treatments means. Even it is possible to find which two treatments having different mean using pro-hoc test.
Also we can analysis in Spss all ANOVA calculations.
ANOVA Analysis is a method that ented to compare variables between two or more groups.Exemple: You have a data containing50 girls and40 boys, and you want to find out if Weight change is remarquable between girls and boys, you need than a one way-ANOVA analysis.
