What is the difference between RAM and ROM ?

RAM - Random Access Memory part of computer hardware or the PC wont boot up if there is no RAM; ROM - Read On Memory which is USB, HDD, CD DVD good for storage ;-) .. am I right Sir, if not.. ouch

RAM: Random Access Memory

ROM: Read Only Memory

 

The main difference is RAM is volatile it means if you switch off the power data will be removed.

ROM is non volatile that means even you switch off the power data will not be removed.Like as Hard Disc, Compct Disc etc.

RAM is Random Access Memory (virtual memory) used for virtual processing which is for speeding up the processes. If you used more RAM you can work on more softwares at one time.

ROM is Read only memory which is like CD/DVD ROM,...

In addition RAM are the module that can be added to increase the  memory, ROM are usually sytem specific and we do not  touch unless there is specific  reason, eg, computer issue due to BAD rom we need to replace
