3GPP is a standardization committee created by a group of Telecommunication associations, originally created to support a global deployment of3G networks. but later it became international organization for Telecommunication standards. so nowadays, wherever you go around the globe, mobile networks comply with3GPP specifications.

3GPP is a standardization committee that came into being addressing standards for the release, and future updated releases of these standards. There were other standards organisations like ITU-T, ETSI and ANSI that began the standards race. These standards were developed to stream line evolution of evolving telecoms technology. These standards cover all of the requirements for features and functionality of fixed/Mobile/IN networks.. Defining how network features are to function.. But not limited to any of the above..
