If just to add to the very deep and professional Samar's answer, I would like to tell the following...Its very good option for biulding healthy atmoshpere to give more freedom in doing smth: making decisions, doing simple job etc., give more responsibility in any issues, to get and to give regular feedback to the employees both negative and positive, but for sure starting with positive one.)) Your behaviour should transer transperency and support in any case, to any initiatives, doesnt matter if it is even big problem.
There are no situation which has no solution.
Many people want to feel their significance in the life - give them this possibility as often as you can.
If to spread definitly philisophy through the company, in which employees feel themself comportable and important they will be very loyal and dedicated, they will want to come to work because the atmosphere will be like at home and they can realize themself.

It is very important to understand that the employment relationship is based on stakeholders win-win relationship.
All parties in this relationship are looking to achieve particular objectives and if not met this relationship will not be healthy.
It is also to note that there are explicit and implicit perceptions; the explicit perception is for example the employers seeking to high performance, quality and efficiency of work while the employee is looking for pay on return of his performance and time as well as career growth.
On the other hand, the implicit perceptions which will not be mentioned in the employment contract while will be known from the psychological contract, involved the employer's willingness to expand the employees timing for extra hours and looking for his flexibility as well as the employees expectations for promotions and salary rise in return of their remarkable performance.
Managing the psychological contract is not simple; it is very sophisticated exercise.
The management needs to consider the fair expectations of the employees and never attempt to damage the manager-employee trust; trust is the key of the relationship if it is lost; control, satisfaction, loyalty and commitment will be lost and consequently will lead to high turning over.
Managing expectations and enable two ways communication might minimize the psychological contract effect.
On the other hand, increasing the turning over and negative psychological contract will perish any savings achieved by flexibility.
The use of flexibility must be in line with achieving win-win relationship between the employees and the employers, otherwise the firm will actively deviate from its objectives.
