What are the different leadership styles which managers use with their staff to get the job done?

each manager has a preferred style;some like to be more directive and other prefer to guide and support, but the real secret of successful leadership is to be able to utilize a range of effective styles and to know when and with whom to use each style, do you know what they are?

leadership manager always tries to praise his staff to get his work done in a very nice manner.....even if the staff doesn't know how to work on it....a simple word....U R THE BEST.... will lead the staff to work hard for that manager.....this is one of the smart ways to get ur work done....even the staff is not capable of doing anything literally....... NOBODY CAN COMPETE WITH MY STAFF will do.........to get the work done......many smart ways are there......

It's depends on the situation ( work/ people/environment/...) because the main task for leaders (not managers) is yo be viable and flexible and target focused

I believe the leadership style is a mean for the goal; that is why there is no optimal method.
you might use autocratic leadership style yet it is the best in this context; i.e.
the military industry.
on the other hand you might use transformative leadership style yet it fail to achieve the organisational objectives due to cultural barrier.
the key to succeed is to analyse the existing context then decide how you will achieve it.
