Recruitment invite the eligible candidates for the existing vacancies available in the organization.
Talent acquisition is a ongoing cycle of process related to attracting, sourcing, recruiting and hiring employees within an organisation.
This includes elements of employment branding, outreach, networking and relationship building with potential candidate communities to continually build and enhance the talent pool for an organisation.

Both recruitment and talent acquisition are used as alternatives by some people, yet their is difference between the traditional recruitment which seek filling the vacancies and talent acquisition that seek maintaining the talent pool, attract them and retaining them.
Recruitment, I can say, is more operational while talent acquisition is more strategic.

* Recruitments: is a linear process, where employers source candidates for the existing vacancies currently available.
This approach is reactive in its nature, thus leads to increased time-to-hire and cost-to-hire.
At times organizations compromise even on quality in order to manage cost and time.
* Talent Acquisition: is ongoing cycle of process that starts by building Employer Brand, communication of Employee Value Proposition and ongoing relationship with targeted Talent segments.
This approach leads to the development of talent pools and talent pipelines eventually creating sustainable talent supply chain.
Talent Acquisition is geared towards anticipated demand and typical hiring needs rather than the current talent demand.
This leads to more strategic nature of the approach and significant improvements across all Recruitment KPIs (Key Performance Indicator).

Recruitment is filling a vacant position with a person who has minimum qualifications needed.
Talent acquisition is finding someone with talents more than that position needed.
Level of talent may not be recognizez at first.
It can be disclosed and recognized after starting the job or work releted with the that position.

Actually, Recruitment is an old term and can be considered a part of Talent Acquisition...because TA is more towards strategy, branding, mapping, etc

With recruitment you are filling position by finding suitable candidates based on his training and past experience.

When identify talent, there are necessary psycho-diagnostic tools to get real personal profile, character and match it with most suitable positions. Many people working years on some positions feel it doesn't suit them and don't feel comfortable in it. But as from past CV experience recruiters put personal brand and again will offer the same career path. After career testing candidates feel relieved coz it finally approves what they all the years of their career feel. Many of them often find themselves high on career ladder, but realise they are on wrong building.

Both Talent Acquisition & Recruitment refer to the same concept. However, Talents Acquisition is the new version of recruitment were recruitment has evolved and developed to become more strategic, proactive and quality oriented yet called Talent Acquisition. It is the same concept of the difference between Human Resources Management and Human Asset Management.
