How do you see quick hit concept in process improvement strategies?

Most of the business processes can be fixed by a small alignment in working through time and motion study, sometime by arranging table and chair in an organize way and some time reducing duplication of work and documents which may load to achieve the required goals.

I used to work where the organization encourage through suggestion scheme as well as improvement projects.  Suggestion scheme is where employees can suggest an improvement to the department manager for review and ,if suitable, implementation.  For each implemented suggestion, the employee gets a reward.  While this is good to encourage workers participation & improve sense of process ownership, it is a "quick hit" method that is effective only when both problem identification & solution implementation are simple.

When the issue gets more complicated, improvement project is needed.

For more systematic improvement, you can use value stream mapping to discover new improvement opportunities (the hidden wastes) and to align the improvement efforts with organizational objectives.
