When somebody performs better:

Recognize their work - Publish them in company intrasite if is best one, publish in department reports, share with the team. If it is best and impacted breakthrough results make them to participate in external competitions, etc

Reward them - Give certificates, cash prizes, gifts in Quarterly Employee meetings, Best performance ratings resulting in higher pay increase and higher incentives, etc

 

If Team is lagging and needs motivation to charge up:

Team outings - In nearby resorts or holiday destinations

Team lunch / dinner meets - With some games

Could be many way to motivate an employee, A Smile from boss to Promotion / Salary Increment.

 

Top10:

 

1. Recognition by certificate and news letters.

2. Promotion/Salary adjustment

3. Well-done group email form CEO/GM.

4. Nomination for training as a reward

5. Man of the year/month award.

6. Gift items on special occasions.

7. Ten or fifteen year of service award.

Motivating employee is not an easy task because different employees tend to be motivated by different things. There is a common misunderstanding that motivation in workplace is directly related to Salary, however this may not be the case in various situations. 

 

Employee motivation can be done various mixes like salary increment, job rotation, flexible timings of job, goal-reward mechanism, and job enrichment. One particular method may work great in one situation while may not bring changes in another. First step is to understand employee what they really need.

I think if i am employe and look from that side , then i can by motivated by2 things ,First financial rewards as all work for money in a legal way and it depends on my preformance all over all during my work history , second through the benfites i receive from my company to belive in the policy of as much i give my company as much i will receive from it .

We have a daily meeting when all principles are repeated indefinately. Every week we have a restitution and every month each crew make a design, the best crew is awareded.

Like this all principles are repeated, known and all employees involve themselves.
