In my opinion Accountant should pay according to his education and experience but there should be an automatic mechanism to boost his salary as his advised about cost controlling and increase profit.
Firstly it depends on the company size and job description because even as per market condition may b the salary is more but if company size means the turn over is less then company might not be able to pay the high salary.
As per the Experience ability skills
Financial analysis is the way to increase your package/salary but also company profit/profile to check the income statement bank reconciliation and portfolio management
