In my opinion I can say that it's totally different for many reasons and also depends on what is the position and what are the activities.. But may be the criteria are very similar for the experienced employees in the both of them due to they are a professionals.

i dont think so, there is some different because its more difficult to get a job in middle east because many want to go there, because its the best destination for the free movers in the last5 years, in this way selection is more difficult, and company is more selective to get someone with a lot of experience and skills;

The selection criteria are articulated in the job description and personal specifications. I think the job secription part is same wherever you go. You might see differences in the personal specifications part and I see that as being accepted especially for the ones which are cultural related.
