When considering a move to The UAE there are many things that need to be considered particular adjusting to a new lifestyle new friends, colleagues as well as embracing new working practices. But to start the ball rolling what do you consider to be the2 biggest financial costs one must undertake to ensure that the correct foundation is laid prior to or on arrival ?

Cost of leaving

as for as travel cost is concerned you can use taxi/cab initially to control this cost.

Just two would be :-

Cost of living (which includes rent, food, clothing, petrol etc....)

Wastage of time (in traffic during peak hours, parking your car in prime and residential locations)

Cost of living of course comes first and foremost.

Second might be Education of the kids or Health insurance if not provided by employer for family. 

Fuel and cars are cheaper than rest of the world relatively.
