Hallo effect in the process of assessment of an employee during the performance appraisal system.
· It is bias towards and employee who may have the same professional qualification as the assessor.
· This happens mostly in case of subjective assessment.
· The halo effect can be negated by using modern methods of appraisal, like360degree feedback where there are many assessors,BARS-( behaviorally anchored rating scales),Human resource accounting,MBO etc
