humor is usually associated with people who are open and easy going, positive and love social gatherings.

having a scense of humor i believe is an added value when it comes to sales, marketing, customer relations...etc.

in other desciplines like engineering,finance,....etc. it is really not accepted behavior to some extent.

being a humorous person it melts the ice "ice breaker" when meeting clients and prospects for the first time, it makes it easier to communicate and get the other person to relax and talk freely.

Humor is the quality of being amuzing or comic, especially if expressed in literature or speach. It is used to change the mood or the state of mind to decrease the formality in the relationship.

The term ‘Humor’ derives from the humeral medicine   of the ancient Greeks, which taught that the balance of fluids in the human body, known as humours (Latin humor, "body fluid"), control human health and emotion.Humour or humor is the tendency of particular cognitive experiences to provoke laughter and provide amusement.

People of all ages and cultures respond to humor. The majority of people are able to experience humor, i.e., to be amused, to laugh or smile at something funny, and thus they are considered to have a sense of humor. The hypothetical person lacking a sense of humor would likely find the behavior induced by humor to be inexplicable, strange, or even irrational. Though ultimately decided by personal taste, the extent to which a person will find something humorous depends upon a host of variables, including geographical location, culture, and maturity, level of education, intelligence and context. For example, young children may favor slapstick, such as Punch and Judy puppet shows or cartoons such as Alif Laila. Satire may rely more on understanding the target of the humor and thus tends to appeal to more mature audiences.
