This is very easy to understand. I would like to share some points on this from my personal PMP notes. Start from "Directing" block and go anti-clockwise. Directing > Coaching > Supporting > Delegating.

1. Directing: a new project has come, there are unknowns. And team needs to know where to go.

2. Coaching: getting team / members to scale up, trainings, etc. More Support + More Direction.

3. Supporting: once team starts, supporting them on various scenarios. More Support & Less Direction.

4. Delegation: the team can now perform well. So, less Support, Less direction.

Hope my notes help.

Best Regards.. Ananth
