The ratio between the turn of the steering wheel (in degree) to the turn of the wheel (in degree) is known as steering ratio. For example: If360 degree turn of steering wheel gets the tires turn to20 degree, the steering ratio is equal to (360/20) i:e18:1. The higher steering ratio means steering wheel needs to be turned more whereas the lower steering ratio means car's wheels respond more quickly to smaller turns of steering wheel.
