General average in marine insurance mean that when cargo is deliberately jettisoned from a ship for the safety of the ship and crew. However the loss to one shipper shared by all shippers unlike the particular average where the loss occur is accidental and not deliberate and a particular shipper suffer the loss and directly claim from insurance company for indemnity.

Thanking You.

General average is a global maritime industry loss mitigation convention whereby ship owners and cargo interests proportionately contribute to fully reimburse those in the venture who sustained loss or damage in preventing the total loss of a vessel, crew and its cargo.
