Worldwide, it is estimated that1.69 billion pounds of cigarette butts end up as waste each year. A study conducted by the California Department of Transportation found that cigarette butts make up34 percent of the total waste captured in California.
The production of cigarettes is very damaging to the environment. It is estimated that one tree is consumed for every300 cigarettes produced - that's one tree for every one and a half cartons. Considering5.6 trillion cigarettes are produced annually worldwide, tobacco devours about18.6 billion trees every year.
Smoking poses a direct threat to our forests, homes and parks. Discarded cigarette butts have been linked to large wildfires, resulting in the destruction of wildlife, vegetation and property. Cigarette-induced fires claim hundreds of lives in California each year, not to mention the millions of dollars in property damage.
I see that it is through its detrimental effect on humans and on economy.

Cigarette smoking is harmful from four important aspects: (1) Injurious to health; it has been established by medical fraternity that cigarette smoking causes Cancer, Asthma and other diseases. (2) It is not adding any value to the body; it has no nutritional value (3) It is waste of hard earn money. The money spent on purchasing cigarette could be used for many useful purposes for self and for charity. (4) It causes environmental pollution; air pollution as well harmful waste generation. In Islam, all above four is prohibited. But still million smoke ?
