People Soft for HR of Universities and SAP for big businesses..... but it depends on how functionally and technically it is being handled….HRMS team has to be well versed with ERP system and other application (such as MS Excel) in which they download data and prepare comprehensive (detailed) report as per their requirements…….

Depend on your needs you may require few or more of the following modules. Good thing is they all can integrate with each other.
Peoplesoft HRMS (Human Resource Management System)
Peoplesoft FMS (Financial Management System)
Peoplesoft SCM (Supply Chain Management)
Peoplesoft CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
Peoplesoft EPM (Enterprise Performance Management)
Again it depends on your need. You can still work on legacy systems if your have less number of employees and simple business. But if your business spread over more than one buildings and more than one cities, You must have a system that is both intelligent and fast enough to help you gain competitive advantage over time.
